Extending deadline for paying tax, exempting penalty tax of late payment for enterprises suffering from Covid-19

The Covid-19 epidemic is developing complicatedly and unpredictably. Thus, many businesses have suffered great losses, had difficulties in manufacturing and consuming goods and services, and have been unable to pay taxes on time due to the impact of the epidemic.

To promptly remove difficulties for taxpayers suffering from the Covid-19 epidemic, contributing to helping taxpayers stabilise production and overcome difficulties, the General Department of Taxation issued document No. 897/TCT-QLN dated March 3, 2020, requesting tax departments of provinces and cities to extend the deadline of paying tax and exempt penalty tax of late payment for taxpayers in accordance with the Law on Tax Management and guidance documents.
